We were up and ready to hit the road by 6:30AM this morning, which has been a pretty consistent time for us so far (after all, we wake up and go to bed with the sun…ahh living by daylight!). After 6 hours of driving on beautiful 101, we finally see the Golden Gate Bridge from a distance amidst the dense and low fog.

By the time we got into San Francisco, it was lunchtime and Adam had recommended his favorite dim sum place, All Seasons. We definitely got way too much food than our bellies could handle, but we will definitely be eating the leftovers tonight!

We went to Adam’s house after lunch to shower and change before our big day in San Francisco. Our first stop was Twin Peak overlook, where we got stunning panoramic views of the city!

We drove north on Steiner Street to see the Painted Ladies on our way to the famous Lombard Street! You can even see Coit Tower from afar as you go down Lombard.

This city is not kidding around with their hilly roads…we felt like we were on a rollercoaster the entire time! As we were driving around, we noticed a lot of awesome street art as well…we made sure to snap some pictures along the drive (I’ve become a great passenger seat photographer from this trip!).

We drove through Fisherman’s Wharf, but we didn’t get the chance to walk around the area (24 hours really isn’t enough time to explore this city). We wanted to try a local San Francisco brewery, so we went to 21st Amendment Brewing Company. It’s right down the street from AT&T Park, where the San Francisco Giants play, and they had a game tonight, so we had a great time with all the local fans!

While we were sitting and enjoying a beer in their outdoor area, Joey spotted an old friend from Florida that he used to play hockey with, just walking down the street. They spent some time catching up and we found out he works right down the street…what a small world!

After a couple of beers, we were ready to take down a giant burrito. We’ve heard of great burritos all over this city, but we all know that some of the best burritos in the States are located in the Mission district, so that’s where we headed! Adam recommended a few good places, and out of the list, Joey distinctly remembered him always mentioning Farolitos…so that was our pick!

I mean I haven’t tasted EVERY burrito in the world, but these were definitely THE BEST I’ve ever had thus far in my lifetime…and Joey agrees too!

After dinner, we drove to Baker Beach to watch the sunset and get a good view of the Golden Gate Bridge, but the fog lingered and we couldn’t even see the bridge! Oh well, I guess we’ll just have to come back to San Francisco to see it again!

I guess that burrito didn’t fill me up enough, because I was already ready to get some dessert to fulfill my sweet tooth! We found Sixth Course right by Adam’s house and it did not disappoint.

We headed back to the house for the night after a full day of adventure. We were excited to get a good night sleep in a nice bed for our upcoming drive to Yosemite National Park tomorrow. We’re staying there for the next two nights, so we’ll have plenty of time to explore…stay posted!
