We took our time waking up today, and it felt great to sleep in a little! We had a lot of options of things to do, and we finally decided to head south towards San Diego for Stone Brewery (one of our faves!).
On our way down, we stopped for an early lunch at Ryan’s favorite sandwich place, Boards & Brews. It was an awesome spot with good vibes, and even better sandwiches!
We hit a little bit of traffic on the way to Stone Brewery, but Joey and I didn’t mind so much because it was awesome to pass through and see all the different beach towns (and not have to drive.)! We tried a couple of beers when we got to Stone Brewery, and my favorite was the Mocha IPA, while Joey enjoyed the triple IPA!
Like every brewery we’ve been to, we bought a glass to add to our collection! On our way back to their place, we stopped at Ryan’s friend’s brewery, Artifex, where we sampled a few of their beers! It was an awesome day of trying craft beers with great friends!
We went back to their house to rest before dinner at Side Door. Joey had eaten here before when he last visited Ryan, so I knew it was going to be great! We shared two orders of AMAZING mac and cheese, a cheese board, and prime rib chili cheese fries….YUMMY! We had so much food that Joey and I didn’t even touch our prime rib sandwich that we planned to split…so we took it home to have tomorrow!
Somehow we saved room for sdessert, and we went to Sprinkles Ice Cream. The west coast locations seem to have a connected ice cream shop…what’s going on New York!? Joey and I got sprinkles sundae which is ice cream in between two halves of a Sprinkles cupcake…SO DELICIOUS! I got cap’n crunch ice cream in a red velvet cupcake and Joey got cookie dough ice cream in a triple cinnamon cupcake!
It’s safe to say that we all went into a food coma when we got home and we went straight to bed! We’ll be passing through Joshua Tree National Park tomorrow on our way to Las Vegas for the night..so stay posted!!
